The Khasi Students Union apprehended 10 suspected Bangladeshis in Thadlaskein, West Jaiñtia Hills.
Acting on a tipoff, the pressure group apprehended the 10 men who were hiding in a Rajasthan-registered truck (RJ 07 GB 2246).
The KSU said that the 10 did not have documents proving their citizenship and that they confessed that they were trying to enter the state illegally. The men were later handed over to the police.
The KSU took the opportunity to also criticise the state and central governments for not implementing the Inner Line Permit in Meghalaya.
