The Khasi Student Union (KSU) has assisted nine desperate returnees working in Bangalore to return to their homes in Meghalaya.
Informing that the nine did not get their salaries for almost two months because of the lockdown imposed in the Karnataka capital and were on the brink of starvation, the KSU informed that they were brought back to Meghalaya by the KSU Bangalore unit before the Ri-Bhoi unit took over from Jorabat until their reached their respective destinations.
The returnees are from Ialong, Mustem, Wapung Skur, Mookyndeng including Nongstoin and Byrnihat.
The union appealed to locals to be vigilant and not to be duped by job agents without doing proper research.
