The Khasi Students Union (KSU) will hold its general election to elect new office bearers of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) on May 6.
The Election Committee to oversee the fifteenth election to the union for new office bearers for the term 2023-26 has informed that the election will start from 8 am to 3 pm Dim Hall, Jaiaw, Shillong.
The Committee has also urged all the youths of the state to participate in the election especially those union members belonging to various units of the KSU.
Samuel B Jyrwa, secretary of the Election Committee, in a press release today informed that the nomination papers will be available at KSU office, Jaiaw, starting from April 14 to April 20 from 11 am till 5 pm.
He further informed that the submission of nomination papers will start from April 15-20 till 5 pm and the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted on April 22 at pm.
“The nomination papers should be submitted before the stipulated time at the Chairman or Secretary of the Election Committee,” Jyrwa said.
The committee has also informed all units, circles, area units, divisions and district units to send ten names of electorates before April 25 to the office of the union.
Elections will be held to the post of long President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Education Secretary, Organising Secretary, Information & Publicity Secretary, Office Secretary, Sports & Cultural Secretary and Environment Secretary.
