Khliehriat, Aug 30: Peter Arsalon Pyngrope of Khliehriat Higher Secondary School emerged the winner of the district level science seminar held on the topic “The Quantum Age Begins: Potentials and Challenges”.
The second and third prizes were bagged by Beneiah Gadiel Sutnga of Little Star Secondary School, Ladrymbai and Bornah Rabha of Rymbai Government Secondary School respectively.
The seminar held at Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat was organised by the District School Education Officer (DSEO), East Jaintia Hills District on August 28.
The seminar aimed at providing students with a platform to express their research ideas, boosting their confidence and to enhance their skills and knowledge of technology.
Students of eight different schools across the district took part in the seminar to showcase their research skills, knowledge and ideas through power-point presentations on the subject, including enhancement of machine learning, secure communication, economic growth and new industries, etc while challenges include technical complexity, security challenges and others.
Following each presentation, teachers engaged and interacted with the students on topics presented by them.
Cash awards and certificates were distributed to the winners of the competition and to all the other participating schools of the seminar.
