Khlain Pyrkhat Syiemlieh is the new head coach of Bodoland FC, it was revealed by the club recently.
Bodoland FC was formed only in 2022 but has played in the 2023 Durand Cup and will make their second appearance this year when the tournament begins in a couple of weeks’ time.
Although it was not mentioned, Syiemlieh, an AFC A Licence holder who has led Shillong-based clubs like Rangdajied United FC, Ryntih SC, Mawlai SC and Langsning FC, has likely been taken on specifically for this tournament.
Bodoland FC have been slotted in Group E along with Odisha FC and NorthEast United FC from the Indian Super League as well as the Border Security Force football team.
These group matches will take place in Bodoland FC’s home ground in Kokrajhar. This will be the second consecutive year that Kokrajhar will be a co-host of the Durand Cup.
