Jowai, Dec 2: The Jaiñtia Students Movement (JSM), Lapangap unit has complained to the West Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner of the Assam government’s plan to build a police outpost at Lum Pynthor in the disputed Lapangap area.
Members of the JSM met Deputy Commissioner Abhinav Kumar Singh today stating that the neighbouring state has dumped construction materials in the area and is planning to build a police outpost.
According to JSM unit president Heyboyme Myrphet villagers had witnessed through videos that Assam plans to build a permanent outpost within the Meghalaya border.
He said that this action shows that the Assam government does not respect the ongoing agreement and has angered the pressure groups.
The DC assured the JSM take up the matter with the State government
