John F Kharshiing has been appointed a member of the organising committee of the International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF) World Cup, to be held in Bhopal from tomorrow.
Kharshiing is National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) vice-president, Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM) president and Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) working president.
He described his appointment as a “great privilege and humbling experience”
The ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Bhopal will see the participation of 198 shooters from across the world, including Olympic medallists and world champions.
With 37 shooters each, India and China will field the largest contingents in the tournament. Denmark, Switzerland, USA, Korea, France and Germany are some of the leading countries whose shooters are expected to do well.
