The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC)–Khliehriat Circle today said it detained two drug users in Khliehriat and took them to their office for a “discipline-focussed session.”
“The council seized this opportunity to counsel them, instil discipline, and educate them about the perils of drug abuse, steering them towards a healthier and more responsible lifestyle,” the JNC stated.
The organisation said their parents were also contacted and called to the office.
According to the JNC, the two individuals shared vital information indicating that several drug dealers are operating within the East Jaintia Hills District.
The confiscated drugs were also burnt by the organisation
Urging authorities to address the menace of drugs promptly with seriousness the JNC said they will put in efforts to dismantle the entire network of drug suppliers in East Jaintia Hills.
