Shillong, Feb 17: The Khliehriat circle of the Jaintia National Council (JNC) today approached the Public Works Department (PWD) with a request to improve the deteriorating condition of roads in Khliehriat.
According to the JNC, several roads in the town are currently in a dilapidated state, marked by potholes, uneven surfaces and prolonged lack of maintenance. These conditions have caused significant inconvenience to residents and pose serious risks to public safety. Pedestrians, schoolchildren, senior citizens and patients are among the worst affected, while frequent traffic congestion has become a daily issue.
