With the aim of encouraging students who had passed the SSLC examination from 2020 to 2022, Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun yesterday felicitated several students for bringing laurels to the constituency and Ri-Bhoi as a whole.
The felicitation programme was held in Byrnihat. Also present were Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla and Jirang MDC Victor Rani, teachers and students.
Over 140 SSLC students from 2020 to 2022 were felicitated and bestowed with momentoes and certificates for their achievements.
On the very same day, special awards, comprising cash and laptop computers, were also awarded to Sohan Thapa from New Era Secondary School, Mawsmai, who secured 15th place in the SSLC examination 2022.
