Junior Chamber International (JCI), Shillong Pine City conducted its 9th installation ceremony with its Prerna Jhunjhunwala as the new president.
The ceremony was held at Hotel Taj Vivanta on February 26 where new secretary Priyal Agarwala and treasurer Gaurav Chachan including the president were given oath of office at the program.
JCI is a non-profit organisation engaged in creating young active citizens and leaders and works through empowering its members and enabling them to create sustainable positive impact in their local communities.
Outgoing president of the organisation Nishant Agarwala presented his report of activities during 2022. Jhunjhunwala shared her vision for the year 2023 and said that JCI would take up some project of a permanent and sustainable nature, like a school, etc. this year. She also proposed to construct a clock tower in the city if such a space was made available.
KHADC MDC Bajop Pyngrope attended the programme as the chief guest. He thanked JCI Shillong Pine City for the good work that they were doing in the society, especially in the education sector and complimented it for empowering women by giving a platform to take up leadership roles.
JCI India Zone XXV (NE), president Sen. CA Bijay Kr. Agarwal also graced the occasion. He too congratulated the team and invited them to take up important national level programs in the upcoming year.
