The Japanese Encephalitis Vaccination campaign in West Garo Hills was launched today by Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh at Sunbeam School in Tura.
Singh urged all children between 1 and 15 be immunized during the drive.
The target for the campaign in the district is 50,000 children, District Medical and Child Health Officer Dr Ivonne M Sangma said. The vaccination programme, which will follow Covid protocols, has been given the go-ahead by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, she added.
