BJP MLA Alexander L. Hek today said that the recent remarks by NPP vice president Prestone Tynsong should wake up the voters of Pynursla constituency as they had been fooled all these 20 years by their MLA.
The former health minister was responding to a recent statement made by Tynsong during a party gathering at Mawlai, where he had said, “We the MLAs including election candidates always made fools of the electorates and the electorates also get easily fooled by us. This is the problem. We fool them every five year and they get fooled by us every five years.”
Slamming such remarks, Hek said, “Tynsong’s comments should wake up the voters of Pynursla constituency as they had been fooled all these 20 years.”
“Tynsong by making such comments clearly implied that he had been fooling the people of his constituency and it is the duty of the voters to respond to it in the 2023 elections,” Hek added.
The BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah also said that Tynsong should not tarnish MLAs of other constituencies by making such remarks.
“If he had fooled his voters, that’s up to him. Why make a sweeping comment that may tarnish the image of other MLAs. I have never fooled my voters,” Hek said.
