The Hynñiewtrep Youths Council (HYC) has demanded that the state government immediately resume mobile internet facilities given the various online examinations going on in the state and outside.
Mobile internet was suspended yesterday in East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills after the eruption of violence following the killing of former militant Cherishterfield Thangkhiew by police on August 13.
Stating that the sudden ban on the internet has put the students in a great dilemma, HYC leader Enlang Sawian said some students are doing their final year exams and could fail their courses if the internet is not reconnected.
He said that the government cannot put the students in distress for its own failure to govern the state.
