The three-day Inter School Athletic Meet, organized by the office of the District Sports Officer, was inaugurated today amid enthusiastic participation of 22 schools from Ri-Bhoi.
The meet was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Arpit Upadhaya and was attended by the Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad, District Sports Officer Bobby L Nongbet, president of the Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association RB Shadap and other dignitaries.
The DC lauded the DSO for organising such an event as a platform for the talented youths to showcase their abilities in the field.
Following the opening ceremony, various track and field disciplines took place at the NSCS Mini Stadium in Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh.
