College of Community Science (CCS), Tura yesterday organised a two-week induction programme for the newly admitted students of B Sc (Honours) in Community Science and Food Nutrition and Dietetics.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Raghvendra Kumar MG, DIG (Western Range), Tura and Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean, CCS.
The programme which was attended by the faculty and staff along with students of the college was scheduled as per the National Education Policy 2020 guidelines and recommendations of the Sixth Deans’ committee formulated by ICAR, New Delhi.
The participants were welcomed by the organiser, Dr. Shipra Nagar.
Dean of the college, Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad highlighted the importance of Deeksharambh as the beginning of a journey of learning and self discipline and initiation of students into formal education.
She also mentioned such foundations will help the students in acclimatising the students with new environment, imbibe life skills and familiarise with institutional academic framework.
The chief guest, Dr. Raghvendra Kumar MG, enlightened the students about the importance of hardwork, being proactive, maintaining focus on the aims and having sincerity in daily lives to bring in self-discipline. He also appreciated the steps taken by the college to initiate such programmes for the first year students.
The event witnessed the induction of students from lighting the lamps from the teachers, thus symbolising the journey of blissful education.
