Shillong, Jul 26: A significant quantity of suspected Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was seized during a routine checking operation at the Dighorkhal Toll Gate, Cachar district of Assam.
The vehicle, bearing registration number AS11 EC 8141, was intercepted and upon inspection, a large haul of liquor was recovered.
The seized liquor includes 63 liters of Signature Whisky, 36 liters of Blenders Pride, 9 liters of Absolut Vodka, 320 liters of Kingfisher Ultra Max Beer, and 486 liters of Royal Stag Whisky, totaling 914 liters.
The vehicle along with the seized items has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are being initiated as per the provisions of law.
The authorities are investigating the matter and taking necessary actions against those involved in the transportation of the suspected IMFL.
