IIM Shillong successfully completed its final placements for the 2020-22 batch, with median salary packages increasing by 27.35 per cent.
The season witnessed participation from 70-plus recruiters and achieved a 100 per cent placement record for the largest batch since its inception.
The average CTC (cost to company, which includes salary, provident fund contribution, etc) of the batch stood at Rs 23.10 lakh per annum (LPA). The median CTC for the batch increased by 27.35 per cent to Rs 22.28 LPA.
Compared to last year, the average CTC of the top 10 per cent was Rs 33.18 LPA, while the average CTC for the top 20 per cent batch stood at Rs 31.31 LPA. Additionally, the average CTC for the top 50 per cent batch increased by 16.08 per cent to Rs 26.95 LPA. The highest CTC shot up by 72.56 per cent to Rs 55.22 LPA.
The batch consisted of 250 students, with an average work experience of 15 months. They received offers that were equally spread amongst various domains, including consulting and strategy, finance, general management, human resources and operations, IT and analytics and sales and marketing.
Some of the key recruiters of the season were Aditya Birla Capital, Amazon, Bain & Co, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte USI, EY, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Bank, ICICI Group, Infosys Consulting, ITC, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nomura Investment Bank, Paytm, Pidilite Industries, Tata AIA Life Insurance, Tata Steel, Titan, Xiaomi and others.
The institute also hosted numerous first-time recruiters, namely AB InBev, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Axis Bank, Bosch, Cipla, CRISIL, Dalmia Bharat Group, Grasim Industries, HDFC Bank, IBM, JSW, Mahindra Group, Microsoft, Piramal Group, PwC, Reliance Industries, Reliance Jio Platforms, Standard Chartered Bank, Tata AIG General Insurance and many more.
The final placement season was a success, according to an IIM Shillong press release, with 30 per cent of the batch bagging offers in consulting and strategy roles.
The average package for female and male students was Rs 24.05 LPA and Rs 22.77 LPA, respectively.
Roles offered across various domains were area sales manager, business consultant, corporate strategy, delivery specialist, equity research, FinOps, general management, global investment research, global management, international business, investment banking, market research, operations consulting, pre-sales and IT consultant, product management, program manager, risk advisory, talent acquisition and many more.
