After six years, the road from Ïew Mawlong to Bimola junction through Punjabi Lane in the city will be re-opened for vehicular traffic.
The road which was closed and ”No Entry” was imposed since June 2018 will be re-opened for vehicular traffic movement from November 4 in order to ease the traffic congestion at Ïewduh.
In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic, the authorities informed that from November 4, vehicles will be allowed to ply from Ïew Mawlong to Bimola junction between 8 am to 4 pm.
The stretch from Motphran till Ïew Mawlong and Punjabi Lane will be converted into ‘One Way’ and ‘No Entry’ will be imposed from Ïew Mawlong towards Motphran.
Along the stretch of parking from Motphran till Ïew Mawlong, vehicles will have to park facing towards the flow of traffic.
Few buses parked on the Ïew Mawlong road near the traffic point will be shifted to MUDA parking lot opposite Anjalee Cinema Hall.
All types of vehicles parked beyond Ïew Mawlong traffic point towards Anjalee Cinema Hall – Old Sohra Station can proceed towards Old Sohra Station and beyond.
All buses will be diverted at Grand Hotel junction towards Boucher Road and will not be allowed to proceed towards Police Bazaar.
SPTS buses will not be allowed to proceed towards Ïew Mawlong from Motphran point, but will be diverted towards Jeep Stand – District Council road.
There will be ‘No Left Turn’ for buses at Bimola junction. However, light vehicles can proceed on both the directions – towards Motphran and Grand Hotel junction.
Vehicles proceeding from Motphran point towards Ïew Mawlong junction can proceed on both the directions – towards Punjabi Lane and Anjalee Cinema Hall – Old Sohra Station.
No parking will be imposed throughout the stretch starting from Ïew Mawlong junction till Bimola junction (Punjabi Lane).
Both side parking of vehicles and levying of parking fee at the stretch of Boucher Road will not be permitted. Only one side parking will be allowed at the stretch to maintain the flow of vehicular traffic.
‘No Parking’ will be imposed throughout the stretch of road starting from Grand Hotel/Umsohsun junction to Motphran point.
