The Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW), Meghalaya branch celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Pinewood Banquet Hall here today.
Commissioner & Secretary of Social Welfare, Pravin Bakshi graced the occasion as the chief guest and Director of Social Welfare, D. D Shira as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Bakshi congratulated the past and present members of the ICSW for their commitment and services to the welfare of the community. He lauded the luminaries of the council for the tremendous contribution in social welfare through the establishment of pre-school and a crèche which has benefitted the community as a whole.
During the programme Secretary of the council, Democracy Lyngwa gave a brief report on the history and journey of ICSW since its inception in 1972.
As part of the celebration, various past and present members of ICSW were being felicitated during the programme.
