A photo exhibition organised by INTACH’s Meghalaya chapter was opened today to celebrate the state’s golden jubilee.
‘Iconic Exhibition: Photos of Interest’ was opened at the State Convention Centre here by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
In his speech, Sangma appreciated the efforts of INTACH Meghalaya and, especially, Ahmed Hussain, a celebrated photographer, whose extensive career has seen him cover the formation of Meghalaya 50 years ago among other significant moments in history, such as the Bangladesh War.
Hussain, the proprietor of the famous Karuz Digital Services, was present on the occasion, with other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister also said that such exhibitions will allow youngsters and future generations to access knowledge about other aspects of Meghalaya’s culture, music and sports and connect to its heritage.
