Nongpoh, Sep 17 : The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Research Complex observed National Nutrition Month with a programme to sensitise key workers about the importance of nutrition and good diet.
The programme, organised in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Farm Science Centre), was held in Sajer, Nongpoh and was attended by Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, who was the chief guest.
The function was attended mainly by anganwadi workers under Umling block in the presence of Senior Scientist and head of KVK Ri-Bhoi Eliza C Syiemlieh, KVK Ri-Bhoi Assistant Chief Technical Officer Mousumi G Das and village leaders of Nongpoh.
Seeds for kitchen gardens were distributed to the anganwadi workers.
Syiem expressed hope that the public will work hand in hand with the government to solve the problem of malnutrition in the country.
