A one-day business meet on promotion of specialty agro-products in North Eastern region was organised by Agri. Business Incubation (ABI), ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam.
The programme was aimed to promote specialty products and produce by the entrepreneurs, of the North Eastern Region, which requires scientific validation and to understand the business plan on the specialty products. More than 75 entrepreneurs from eight states of the region attended the meet.
Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department Dr K. B Sahkhar appreciated the works of Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Centre, and requested Agri-preneurs of the region to harness maximum supports and opportunities from the centre.
A MoU was also signed between Na Ri and ICAR in the presence of L.S. Shangpliang, MD, Na Ri Directorate of Dairy Development, Government of Meghalaya for the promotion of ICAR technology and products and Na Ri Dairy products in the sale counter of ICAR NEH.
Special Guest, B.K Sohliya, Executive Advisor to the Meghalaya Farmers (Empowerment) Commission emphasized on the importance of entrepreneurship in the region.
Dr. V.K Mishra, Director, ICAR remarked on the Agri-preneurship development in the region and said that it is time to shift the paradigm from job seeker to job provider.
The Agri-Business Incubation Centre, ICAR also launched an Android Mobile App with distinguished features which will help to reduce the information gap among the entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs’ attending the meet, also had the opportunity to launched their innovative products
Technical Session were also held to discussed the quality of the products, packaging and labeling of the products, marketing outreaching strategies along with various constraints and their remedial measures.
