The Sohiong unit of the Hynniewtrep Youths Council (HYC) today met with the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) of East Khasi Hills to apprise the official of the shortcomings of the Sohiong community health centre (CHC).
The issues raised included water leaks in the building, corroded pipes, improper electricity wiring, etc.
Purningstar Shabong, president of HYC Sohiong, said that the DMHO assured them that action will be taken to address these issues, including writing to the engineering wing to rectify the building’s electrical systems and other shortcomings.
