The Ri-Mulliang Circle of the Hynniewtrep Youths Council (HYC) has recently submitted a memorandum to Shillong MP Ricky AJ Syngkon.
The memorandum calls for the upgrading of the Langpih anti-dacoity (AD) camp to a police outpost, repairs to the road from Ktiehthawiar to Langpih under the PMGSY scheme and special funding for developmental activities in the border areas.
The concerns raised by the HYC also include the need for expedited resolution of the boundary dispute in the Langpih sector, ensuring electricity supply to frequently harassed Khasi villages in Assam, and addressing Assam’s unilateral developmental activities.
In addition, the HYC seeks support for tackling the price drop in agricultural produce and enhancing cooperative societies through government schemes.
The HYC urged the MP to support the improvement of the road from Rwiang Tynghor to Athiabari, in preparation for the Synod gathering scheduled to be held at Tynghor.
