The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an attempt by 26 suspected Bangladeshi migrants to enter India illegally in one of the biggest such operations in the state.
Acting on specific inputs, personnel of the BSF’s 22nd Battalion in West Garo Hills observed three vehicles coming from Purakhasia and heading towards Barengapara at Matchokpara along State Highway 12.
The operational team swung into action and intercepted the target vehicles where they found the 26 Bangladeshis whose entry into India was being facilitated by four Indian touts. All 30 individuals were taken into custody for further legal action.
