The fight death anniversary of veteran leader and former MLA Hopingstone Lyngdoh was observed by the HSPDP Nongstoin Unit, at the party’s office yesterday.
Speaking at the event, PHE Minister Samlin Malngiang said that the passing away of Lyngdoh was a great loss to the HSPDP and the State as a whole.
“It is our duty as legislator and party workers to follow-up the pending issues that our great leader has left behind,” said Malngiang.
Meanwhile, as the chief organiser of the party, Malngiang urged the leaders to strengthen the party in West Khasi Hills District.
Other speakers also recalled the work that late Hpoing Stone Lyngdoh had done for the people in the areas bordering Assam and his contribution towards Meghalaya attaining statehood.
The event to remember the contributions of the former MLA was attended by Mairang MDC Batskhem Ryntathiang, Mawkynrew MDC Martle N. Mukhim, former MLAs Witing Mawsor and Diosstarness Jyndiang, former MDC L G Nongsiej besides other dignitaries amongst others.
