A devastating fire broke out at the residence of one Sbuh Pyrtuh in Sohmynting Village, West Jaintia Hills District, on Sunday.
Fortunately, Sbuh’s husband, who was the sole occupant of the house at the time, managed to escape the blaze unscathed.
The incident which occurred at around 2:30 pm.
The fire quickly spread, consuming the entire house and destroying all belongings.
The situation took a dire turn when two LPG gas cylinders inside the house exploded, intensifying the fire.
Despite the prompt arrival of the Fire & Emergency Service, the damage had already been extensive.
Local authorities from Thadlaskein C&RD Block, West Jaintia Hills, also visited the site to assess the situation.
