The proprietor of Manna Inspira Homestay has denied the allegations made by a woman who stayed at the homestay that a gang of goons tried to break open the door of her room at the homestay.
Mahuya Sengupta, an assistant professor who was in Shillong to attend a conference at the nearby North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) recently, had alleged that she was shocked out of her sleep by wild and raucous laughter as the gang tried to break down the door to her room at the homestay.
Clarifying on the incident, Wanehbok Nonglait, the owner of the homestay, said that as per the CCTV footage, all allegations made by Sengupta are false and of malign nature.
“No such incident happened on that day where alleged ‘goons’ tried to break open her room door. They were just other guests who were just having normal communications among themselves in their own rooms,” Nonglait said, adding that the charges made by Sengupta are “untrue and baseless”.
