The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Movement (HNYM) today organised a meeting to create awareness among the people on the pressure group’s demands for job reservation in the private sector.
The HNYM wants the state government to make it mandatory for private firms to reserve 80 percent of their jobs for indigenous tribals.
“We are not against any factory or company to set up in the state but each of these need to reserve 80 percent of jobs for the youth of the state” stated the HNYM president Louis Dohtdong.
Such a move would also curb the problem of influx into Meghalaya, he added.
