Three HNLC leaders and their two bodyguards have arrived in the State to take part in peace talks with the government.
HNLC vice chairman Manbhalang Jyrwa, political secretary Aristerwell Thongni, and foreign secretary Phrangkupar Diengdoh including two of their bodyguards Aiborlem Marbaniang and Storgy Lyngdoh are staying at the MeECL inspection bungalow at Sumer, Ri-Bhoi district.
Informing this today, Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) president Sadon K. Blah said that the three HNLC leaders and their two bodyguards arrived in the State on August 5.
“They are being given police security at the place they are staying,” he said.
Blah who is the HNLC-appointed interlocutor also informed that the five HNLC leaders have informally met the State government interlocutor Peter S. Dkhar soon after their arrival.
Recently, the HNLC said it is committed to the peace talks and expressed that the peace process would be expedited at the earliest to reach a political solution to its demands.
