Shillong, Dec 22: The proscribed Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) refuted police claim that they have arrested its members involved in the Dhar Company incident, calling it a blatant lie.
“Those arrested were not members of the HNLC, and all the weapons seized belonged to the police. The HNLC members involved in the IED blast on December 15 have returned safely to their camp,” the HNLC said in a press statement.
The proscribed outfit stated that if the police have confirmed that those people arrested are involved, why are they still detaining the wife of Emanuel Suchen @ Shwa, a staunch member of the HNLC?
The HNLC also stated that in the history of the HNLC, there has never been a time when it had kidnapped or “arrested” the relatives of ministers or policemen.
The outfit stated that on the contrary, the police department has repeatedly arrested and harassed their relatives.
