The Byrnihat unit of the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) has filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi related to pollution of water sources.
HITO said that the majority of people living at Upper Narbong village are livestock farmers who release cattle waste directly into nearby water sources, which poses a great threat to people living in villages like Narbong Jojwa and Umjojwa, who use the water from these sources for drinking and other purposes.
