The Hindu Welfare Society Nongpoh celebrated Gandhi Jayanti today, honouring meritorious students under the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata.”
The event, marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was attended by Unteswar Singh, president of the Hindu Welfare Society Nongpoh; Madhav Singh, secretary; Michael Kharhunai, village assistant secretary; and Muneshwar Singh, professor at Ri-Bhoi College, among others.
Awards were presented to students who excelled in the SSLC and HSSLC examinations, specifically those who achieved a score of 75 percent or more.
Two special awards were given to the toppers – Krishna Koirala who secured 17th position of SSLC and Jagjot Singh Nongtdu who secured 10th position in the HSSLC examination 2024.
