The Dorbar of Hima Khyrim has sought permission from the State government to conduct rites and rituals for the annual thanksgiving festival, the Nongkrem Dance scheduled to be held at Smit on November 24 and 25.
He said that the Hima intends to restrict the participation in the dance, rites and rituals to only the main functionaries of the Hima, who will adhere to the social distancing norms and preventive measures as recommended by the government.
Urging the government to take necessary action for the Hima to start its preparations on time, Dr Syiem said only a small number of dancers will participate in the dance.
