Meghalaya will feel the effects of Cyclone Yaas over the coming days, with moderate to heavy rain to begin to fall on most districts tomorrow, culminating in very heavy showers on Wednesday.
While the eastern districts got some rain today, eight districts will experience heavier rainfall tomorrow as Yaas hits West Bengal and Bangladesh in force. The only districts that might be dry tomorrow, according to Indian Meteorological Department estimates, are North Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills.
By Wednesday, though, the whole state should be affected by wet weather, with orange-level warnings for South West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills in particular. Threats of heavy rain will continue in SWKH on Thursday but conditions should improve elsewhere before returning to normal all over Meghalaya by Friday.
