MPCC president Vincent H Pala today said that half of cabinet ministers in the NPP led MDA government had built their credibility with the Congress.
Pala said that the cabinet minister were once upon a time Congress members and gained exposure. “Half of the cabinet in the Conrad Sangma government qualified from the Congress built their credibility with the Congress. They have got all their exposure from the Congress now they have gone to the NPP and to the UDP,” he said.
It may be pointed out that of the 12 Cabinet Ministers in the MDA government – Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar joined the NPP and Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui joined the United Democratic Party.
On how the Congress will go to the by polls with infighting on all over the country, Pala said that the Congress is a a big family and in such a situation many people will come and many people will go.
The MPCC chief also said that the issues that are occurring in Punjab will not affect what’s happening in Meghalaya.
“Those liabilities and assets of Punjab will remain in the State. Meghalaya will have our own liability and assets. So I don’t think we carry all those. It should not be an issue,” Pala said.
