Shillong, Aug 6: Governor of Meghalaya CH Vijayashankar today interacted with and felicitated the NCC cadets of NER who represented Meghalaya at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
The Governor congratulated the cadets for their exemplary performance and discipline, the Governor lauded their hard work, commitment, and the pride they have brought to Meghalaya through their participation in the prestigious national event. He encouraged them to continue upholding the values of service, leadership, and patriotism that the NCC stands for, and to inspire other youth of the state to also lead the path of honour and glory.
During the interaction, Vijayashankar made a special mention of Rifiness Warjri, the youngest person from Meghalaya to summit Mount Everest, appreciating her achievement and contribution, and urged the cadets to follow such shining examples of dedication and excellence. Warjri is also an NCC cadet.
The Governor also highlighted the importance of participation of youths in nation-building and called upon the cadets to be responsible citizens, dedicated to the unity and progress of the country.The interaction concluded on an inspiring note, with Vijayashankar felicitating young cadets and expressing confidence that the cadets would carry forward the discipline, courage and patriotic spirit imbibed during their NCC training into every sphere of life. He urged them to be torchbearers of Meghalaya’s rich values and to contribute in the best possible way to the progress of the state and the nation.
