Governor Brig BD Mishra (retd) has greeted the people of Meghalaya on the occasion of Parakram Diwas, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose.
In a press release, he expressed hope that the occasion will inspire everyone to promote nationalism and patriotism among all Indian citizens.
The Governor praised Bose’s role in India’s independence struggle as the founder of the Indian National Army that collaborated with the Japanese against the British during the Second World War.
“He coined the most popular salutation ‘Jai Hind’. His charismatic personality and powerful oratory inspired millions of Indians to join the Indian freedom struggle,” Brig Mishra said.
