Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar flagged off the North East Wheels Bike Expedition-Season 3 from the Raj Bhavan here today.
Organised by Amazing Namaste Foundation, the expedition celebrates the vibrant culture, natural beauty, and biodiversity of the Northeast, promoting the ethos of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
Supported by MDoNER, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh tourism, and other organisations, the week-long expedition featured 30 participants exploring key landmarks in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, including Dong, Dawki Land Port, and the Garo and Jaintia Hills.
Themes such as Swachh Bharat, Road Safety, and Dekho Apna Desh were promoted, with participants interacting with local communities and staying in homestays to support the rural economy.
The Governor lauded the initiative for showcasing the region’s heritage and fostering national integration, embodying the motto “One Nation, One People, One Culture.”
