The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Southern Zone, has written to the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills seeking urgent repairs of the various roads around Baghmara as well as those in other places, which are in a terrible state.
“The roads are in a deplorable condition even in the administrative area of Baghmara. The entire stretch from the Simsang Bridge to the DC’s office needs to be immediately repaired and set for two-laning. Similar is the situation of the other roads. These roads are being used on a daily basis by commuters and need immediate attention,” said the pressure group in a memo sent today.
