Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said that the state government will constitute a broad-based committee given that Meghalaya will celebrate its 50th anniversary of statehood in 2022.
“We aim to celebrate the 50th anniversary in a benefitting manner that will be celebrated throughout the year and culminate on 21st January 2022. The committee will comprise leaders from different political parties, both ruling and opposition, District Councils, and different organizations and officials that will ensure that we get good inputs from all sides and make the year-long celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the statehood of Meghalaya a grand success,” Sangma said on the sidelines of the 49th Meghalaya Day here today.
