The Urban Affairs Department has compiled a list of designated parking, on-street parking and no-parking zones within Shillong city.
The order has been notified and the extensive list has been published on the East Khasi Hills district website (https://eastkhasihills.gov.in/document/parking-on-street-parking-and-no-parking-zones/).
The notification will be implemented in the zones falling under Sadar Traffic Branch, Madanrting Traffic Branch, Laban Traffic Branch, Mawlai Traffic Branch, Rynjah Traffic Branch, Lumdiengjri Traffic Branch and Laitumkhrah Traffic Branch.
The rates of parking are as per the government notification issued by the Secretary to the Urban Affairs Department. In high demand commercial areas, two-wheelers will be charged Rs 20 per hour and four-wheelers Rs 40 per hour. In low demand non-commercial areas two-wheelers will be charged Rs 15 per hour and four-wheelers Rs 30 per hour.
The order will come into effect from August 1, 2025.
