President of the All Meghalaya Dancers Association (AMDA), Kitbok Thabah, today lamented that the state government is not doing enough for the talented youth of the state.
“I can see the destruction of our youth who have fallen prey to drug abuse and other substances but the government is least bothered and doesn’t do anything,” Thabah said at a conference while eliciting support for Twinkle Iawrod from Mawsynram, who has been selected for the semifinal of the third season of India’s Talent Fight in Dehradun.
AMDA had earlier sent a letter to Arts and Culture Minister Paul Lyngdoh and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on the hardships of talented youth but it fell on deaf ears, Thabah said, adding that the association has sought for support and recognition from the Meghalaya government since 2019 but to no avail.
