In reference to a Letter to the Editor in your daily dated January 9, 2026 written by D Pakynteiñ, here’s what I’d like to add. There are so many things that the Government of the day blow things out of proportion and make inflated assertions. The Shillong Bañiun Four-lane was supposed to be completed by the 31st December 2025. Before that, it was supposed to be completed in June 2025. And of course, there is no illegal coal mining in Meghalaya. The latest accidental death of two persons from dynamite blast purportedly for extracting the black gold, is another glaring example of the lies we are being fed.
