Ahead of the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections, the State government has today issued an order for major reshuffle of police officers across districts.
East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police (SP), Sylvester Nongtnger, has been replaced by Rituraj Ravi while Tura SP Abraham T. Sangma has been replaced by Dara Aswaghosh.
Nongtnger has been asked to take charge as Commandant of 6th MLP Battalion in Umran in place of Ravi.
SP (City) Vivek Syiem has also been transferred and posted as the SP (CID) in place of Pankaj Kumar Rasgania. Further, Rasgania who was earlier the SP (CID) has been appointed as the new SP (City).
Dara Aswaghosh who is the Commandant, 2nd MLP Battalion, Goeragre, Tura has been transferred and posted as the SP, West Garo Hills. Abraham T. Sangma has been made the new Commandant of 2nd MLP Battalion.
Banteilang Kharjana, Deputy Commandant, 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda, East Garo Hills was appointed as the Additional Superintendent of Police, South West Khasi Hills against the existing vacancy.
Spearsing Paslein, Deputy SP (Hqr), Ri-Bhoi District was transferred and posted as the Deputy SP (Hqr), East Jaintia Hills against the existing vacancy.
Anthony Ch. Momin, Deputy SP (Hqr), East Garo Hills was transferred and posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chokpot, South Garo Hills replacing John Clitzer A. Sangma.
Krison R. Marak, Deputy SP (Hqr), West Garo Hills was transferred and posted as the Deputy SP (Hqr), East Garo Hills in place of Anthony Ch. Momin.
John Clitzer A. Sangma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chokpot, South Garo Hills was transferred and posted as the Deputy SP (Hqr), North Garo Hills in place of Sylvester Raksam Marak.
Sylvester Raksam Marak, Deputy SP (Hqr), North Garo Hills was transferred and posted as the Assistant Commandant, 2nd MLP Battalion, Goeragre, West Garo Hills against the existing vacancy.
Jeffry W. Sooting, Deputy SP (City), Shillong was transferred and posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Mawshynrut in place of Isaac S. Marak who has been transferred and posted as the Deputy SP (Hqr), East Khasi Hills against the existing vacancy.
