Along with millions of young people and youth workers around the world, the Sunrise Adventist Secondary School, Lumparein Khyndeinso, Ri-Bhoi district in collaboration with Hills Farmers Union (HFU) yesterday planted trees and vegetables at the school campus to commemorate the Global Youth Service Day 2021.
Environmentalist and Senior Adviser HFU Dr. Bremley Wanbantei Blah Lyngdoh congratulated the teachers, students, and members of the HFU for organising the programme under the theme ‘Agriculture in a classroom’ a special training programme.
“We started Global Youth Service Day with Global Youth Action Network with my team in New York and together with the team Youth Service America in Washington DC 21 years ago mobilizing five million young people in 175 countries,” he said.
“I hope whatever you have grown in your gardens and trees you have planted on this day will continue to grow and bear fruits for the children and the staff and all the people around,” he added.
