A resident of Bholarbitha under Chibinang in West Garo Hills district has written to the GHADC CEM, alleging that the mondol from the area was involved in corrupt practices and nepotism, along with also being an active political worker.
Ashraful Alom in his complaint to the CEM today stated that one Habib Mondal who is employed with the Land & Revenue department of GHADC has been posted in the same place since long despite many complaints against the employee by locals.
“There were many complaints but no action has been taken against him by the GHADC. He has been indulging in corruption (Mouza VI) and has accepted money to make illegal land pattas,” said Alom.
Alom mentioned the case of his grandfather’s land which as per him was illegally transferred without the knowledge of his sons or legal heirs. The land document was taken out in someone else’s name after Habib apparently took a huge amount of money from them.
“When we came to know about this we approached him to enquire about the matter but he vehemently threatened me and my father not to raise any voice against the same,” stated Alom who sought action against the GHADC mondol and also the transfer of the employee from Mouza VI.
