Twelve years after work to electrify 20 villages was halted, seemingly without an explanation, the Deputy Chief Executive Member of the GHADC has requested the state government to complete the work.
Nikman Ch Marak met with Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Prestone Tynsong today.
The villages are all under Chokpot civil sub-division, Marak said. The electrification process “was taken up in the year 2010 but, for reasons unknown to the would-be power consumers, the work was abruptly abandoned for 12 long years now”.
Marak also wants an inquiry to be conducted into the “illegal abandonment” of the villages and to bring those contractors and officials responsible to justice.
