The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) has warned of agitation if the state government fails to release their three months’ pending salaries at the earliest.
In a statement issued here, association president LG Momin informed that the teachers are yet to receive their pay for June to August.
“We all know that the required funds have been sanctioned by the central government to pay all the pending dues, including eight months of pending arrears of 2016-17. However, the aggrieved SSA teachers have not received their three months’ pending salaries and eight months’ pending arrears till date. It’s already been one month since Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma confirmed that funds from the central government had been received. We are tired of waiting and we are running without food and money,” Momin said.
He added that the teachers had been assured that the pending salaries would be disbursed after the recently-concluded Assembly session.
